Long forlorn stories of love...

Long forlorn stories of love, Smeared with hopelessness in which she dove … In vain was it all, her gasp for life… The wounds were fresh and glowed in strife… Perplexed she was, with the uncertainty … They say change is the only constant and she sought variety… How perfect was this arrangement life had to offer. Mulling over the purpled kisses, the ruffled hair and the warm caresses and the hungry skin that had found comfort, her skin still cracks open for the light to make way through the crevices… The light & I, we looked into each other for hours together… in our attempt to free her. Alas… she was already trapped in the light of her mind.

The Solitary Blogger

So it’s that point in my life when I feel scared again. The last time I was scared I began the blog, purged my thoughts and made my blog a mirror to my life, wherein things which impacted my life a great deal got reflected. Perhaps, some melancholic vein in my body has twitched today so much so that I am driven to put my thoughts down in a sheet again (Ms Word doc to be precise). Melancholy, right. What is it? A certain state of being that means different to different people. For some, insufficient grades translate into melancholy, while for some dysfunctional relationships. And for some weird fanatics like me, absolutely nothing leads to melancholy. You know, you just get it out of the blue. And when it strikes, it strikes hard. Some eat a lot more, some eat a lot less, some (with insufficient means) go window-shopping while some (with even more insufficient means) write blogs and kill time. So basically, everybody has his/her own way of expressing melancholy. But what if we neve...

Hidden

Precariously written, precariously hidden… her words lay beneath the labyrinth of all that was ‘normal’. Coloured in the shades of all that was grey, they never saw the light of the day… Her moves mirrored stealth, her eyes emitted Athenian wealth. She bore in herself a vessel so vast, only infinity could fit the cast. Beware! For ferocious are her ways. She can set the ice ablaze. For her vessel might drown you and her light blind you; her words baffle you and her thoughts scar you…  There she is! Dressed in purple and neon, and colours astounding, lost in a wonderous oblivion, our harmless little literary wildling. Image:  Saint Catherine’s Labyrinth   © Jan L. Richardson

... because there's no one youer than you

…because there’s no choice, but to rise and voice. Deafening is the clutter and the noise, But you know, you shan't lose thy poise. … because those are tongues, they shall wag… Wagging is in their nature, Move ahead, and they will lag. …because what is today shall become tomorrow, what awaits tomorrow shall bring in a new morrow. Try and try till you know you can’t try anymore, Wait and wait, but watch they don’t try you nomore… Hold thyself, abandon your shelf. Lest the dirt will settle and so will you. Get up and shout, Shriek out aloud. For you know, there’s no one youer than you.

She knows not...

She waits… She waits… For what, she knows not For whom, she knows not… She waits… She waits… In vain… For what she gains, she knows not For what awaits, she knows not… Kindles a joy….but what she knows not Kindles a fear…. but what she knows not…. Lives a nightmare…. Ghastly she knows not… Lives a dream… nightmarish she knows not… With bated breath… scaling the breadth…. Damning her fate… Why she knows not…. For how long, she knows not… For if there was a leaf, she would squeeze it in her palms, How, she knows not…. Numb shall leave her the crumple, Why, she knows not... She yearns for something she knows not, or maybe she yearns, but she knows not… Longing for someone’s touch? She knows not… Waiting for someone’s…. what, she knows not….

BELIEF

This happened a year back. I didn’t make it to the first merit list of a college I had interviewed in. I had been instead waitlisted. I called up my dad to give him the news, and in came the answer from his side, “Don’t worry beta. Believe in Sai. He will set everything right.”  I couldn’t help smiling at the way he said it, with so much conviction and, perhaps, blind faith that anybody would feel like believing in it, unless ofcourse one is vehemently sceptic. At one level, it is his helplessness which prompts him to surrender to an unknown presence (maybe ‘absence’ is the right word) which he ‘thinks’ will magically let everything fall into place. It honestly beats my imagination and understanding of the scenario. However, it also doesn’t leave me without some food for thought.  I too have turned into a sceptic over the last few years, which by the way is enormously disturbing to my parents. But I must confess I have not been able to choose a path yet. I call myself a...

The Gangnam Phenomenon

‘Oppan Gangnam Style!!’— Sounds familiar? It ought to be, for if it doesn’t, my friend, you have been sleeping for the last 4 months. An unimaginably popular South Korean music video by Park Jae-Sang a .k.a. PSY, which has taken the entire (cyber) world by storm and has left the social networking sites buzzing and oozing with comments. The video seems to have struck a chord with the Global populace, and a right one at that I must say. Do you know Gangnam style has an entire Wikipedia page dedicated to it?!  And if that has not shocked you enough, here’s more. The page describes it as a “Global phenomenon”. When was the last time we had heard a term as sophisticated and intellectual as this used for a music video. Michael Jackson, I guess? The other day I read an article on the same. Seems like even our UN Secretary General, Mr. Ban ki Moon is a big fan of the… well… ludicrous moves. If sources are to be believed, apparently Mr. Moon has made a statement that after h...
